Locating a Fault in Duct-Lay Cable, Part 1 – 7 minutes
Explains how to perform the following preliminary steps before testing a circuit that uses duct-lay cable: interpret the system diagram, ensure that the circuit is isolated and grounded so that work can be done on it, and connect the cables on the test set so the set can be used to test for the existence of a fault.

Locating a Fault in Duct-Lay Cable, Part 2 – 15 minutes
Shows how to locate a phase-to-ground fault with tracer current equipment in a circuit that uses duct-lay cable.

High-Voltage Bridge – 6 minutes
Shows how to use a simplified diagram to explain how a high-voltage bridge can be used to localize a fault in a circuit that uses pipe-type cable. Identifies and explains the purpose of the controls on a typical high-voltage bridge.

Localizing a Fault in Pipe-Type Cable – 13 minutes
Describes how to perform the following preliminary steps before testing a circuit that uses pipe-type cable: interpret the system diagram, ensure that the circuit is isolated and grounded so that it can be safely worked on, and connect the cables so that the portable high-voltage supply can be used to determine a faulted and unfaulted phase of the circuit. Explains how to connect the cables so that the portable high-voltage supply and the high-voltage bridge can be used to localize a fault in a circuit that uses pipe-type cable. How to localize a fault with the high-voltage bridge in a circuit that uses pipe-type cable.
